Renge-ji (C-138)

From the The Great Gardens of Kyoto collection.

This is the same garden as in C-139, but taken from a more distant viewpoint. The still surface of the pond occupies more space, but leads our eye to the vibrant autumn colors above, and finally to the stone lantern behind the branches. This is another image of the quiet lantern, but from a slightly different angle. The lantern seems to be more hidden. The calm surface of the water takes more space in this image and leads our eye to the vivid reds at the back.
