The geometrically trimmed azalea bushes function as a natural fence, and each section feels like a large “hako niwa” or miniature box garden that contains its own small universe of bushes, flowers, trees and rocks. This temple is open to the public only during special times in the spring, the most beautiful season for azaleas, and autumn.
