Renge-ji (C-149)

From the The Great Gardens of Kyoto collection.

Every autumn, vibrant colors are a glorious expression of the final chapter of the year. Here we see both the golden carpet of the fallen gingko leaves and the red leaves of the maples. The angle William chose almost makes the wooden torii gate hidden from view, yet the torii also seems to support the leaves that are at the peak of their color.
