Reikan-ji (D-135)

From the Temple Gardens of Kyoto collection.

We naturally long for peace, so we visit places that can still our heart, even for a moment. This composition leads viewers down a narrow pathway made of diamond-shaped stepping stones. William chose this angle to highlight the complimentary arrangement of both the man-made and the natural. By showing a single camellia in a foreground and then the temple structure partially in the distance, we are able to experience the depth of this temple landscape.
