There are two ponds in the Sento Gosho. Here we see two tree trunks in shadow, functioning as a frame and highlighting the pond, bushes, and stone bridge. A touch of pink from the crape myrtle flowers softens this image. The tip of the triangular stone in the foreground is not touching the small stones on the other side of the shore, enabling our eyes to slide between them to the surface of the pond. The still water and silent bridge create calm in this image.
