A stone image of Jizo silently stands in this garden (the Jizo Bodhisattva is a protector of children and the earth and is a symbol of peace). The main temple is dedicated to Yakushi Nyorai (Buddha of Medicine), also known as the healer. The area where this temple is built is called “Ohara no sato,” and it is known as a place for obtaining eternal happiness and blessings, especially for women. The golden leaves from the top left appear to reach out to Jizo. William had placed a vibrant red leaf on the area where the Jizo’s heart would be as a charm.
