Each garden has its own unique characteristics and features. Instead of showing a famous garden space, William captured this entrance to Shisendo that shows two screen openings behind a beautiful azalea bush in full bloom. Their unusual shapes remind us of the eyes of a cat, one that seems to be hiding behind the bush. Shisendo’s garden can be glimpsed through the narrow openings in the background, inviting us inside to explore the open spaces that await.
