太田神社 (京都市北区上賀茂本山340)

This shine used to be called, “On ta sha/恩多社”, and the area where these irises are blossoming is called, “Ota no sawa/大田ノ沢”. There are approx. 25,000 irises(kakitsubata) in these areas. On-ta (恩多) could mean “abundant grace/favor”. When we witness these healthy irises blooming abundantly, one can feel enriched. It is nature’s way of blessing anyone(any beings) having eyes to see and souls to contemplate its beauty.
